- Numerous walks - some with signposts around the site - paths for mountain bikes, and riding - or try some early morning jogging?

- The League for the Protection of Birds is only 500 metres away - here you can discover the secrets of migration - there are several excellent observation posts.

- Saint-Saturnin (which is classed as the most beautiful village in France), has a chateau and charming alleyways leading to the Romanesque church.

- Aydat, beside a lake, is a family resort with many sailing and water sport facilities and " spare-time " activities, e.g. a sauna, " hammam ", a jacuzzi, a squash court, a climbing wall and weight-training, all at reduced tariffs.

- The little shops around the village square in Saint-Amant-Tallende allow one to shop at leisure.

Situated with in the Park of the Volcanoes La Serre de Portelas is ideal for discovering the " authentic " Auvergne with it’s many surprises!

- Visit the volcanoes, Puy-de-Dôme, puy Pariou, puy de Côme, the " Maison du Parc des Volcans " at the château of Montlosier and the Centre Europeen du Volcanisme VULCANIA.

At Volvic we suggest you visit the House of Stones, the craft workshops (enamelling on rock) and the society of the water of Volvic.

- 250 churches are at your door: Issoire, Orcival, Saint-Nectaire, Notre Dame du Port at Clermont not forgetting Saint-Saturnin.

- The châteaux are also numerous and very varied.

The château of Saint-Saturnin tells of the tumultuous history of Queen Margot.

At the château of La Bâtisse at Chanonat you will be received by the chatelaine and can visit apartments lived in by previous generations - the garden is also well worth a detour!

At Murol, the Chevaliers of Gabriel will be delighted to help you spend a day in the Middle Ages.

- Clermont-Ferrand, the capital of the region has all the services, business and sights of a large modern city. Birthplace of Blaise Pascal (mathematical genius), there are some marvellous architecture, superb cathedral and the " Maison de l’Eléphant ".
