La Serre de Portelas is easily accessible in five minutes from 4 main roads :
- From the north (Paris) by the A71 then the A75 direction Millau-Monpellier, exit n° 5.
- From the east (Lyon) by the A89 (ex A72) then the A75 direction Millau-Monpellier, exit n° 5.
- From the south (Montpellier) by the A75 (non-toll) exit n° 5.
- From the west (Bordeaux) by the D2089 (ex N89) as far as Theix, then the D96.
- 20 minutes from the centre of Clermont-Ferrand by Beaumont and Ceyrat or by Chamalières, Royat and try the legendary automobile circuit of Charade !
